New Year, Same BS? Let’s Try Something Different for 2026

Every December, the internet explodes with “New Year, New Me!” energy.
We all start saying things like:

“I’m finally losing the weight.”
“I’m going to the gym every day.”
“I’m going to slow down, reconnect, say yes, say no, drink water, sleep better, and change my entire life in the next 30 days.”

And honestly?
By February… most of those resolutions turn into BS we forget about or feel guilty for not sticking to.

Not because we’re lazy.
Not because we’re unmotivated.
But because massive, dramatic change overnight is not sustainable, and honestly, it’s not even realistic.

So instead of trying to reinvent your entire life in six weeks, I want to offer something different for 2026:

Pick a word. One word. Let it become your anchor for the year.

I started doing this a couple of years ago and it changed everything for me.

In 2025, my word was connection.
I reconnected with friends I hadn’t seen in years. I made time for conversations I’d been putting off. I showed up for people in a way that felt grounding and good for my soul.

That one word guided me more than any “resolution” ever has.

Now, heading into 2026, my word is YES.

Yes to new opportunities.
Yes to adventures.
Yes to things that scare me in a good way.
Yes to letting myself grow instead of staying stuck.
Yes to the parts of me I’ve been holding back.

It’s not about becoming a “new me.”
It’s about becoming more aligned with who I already am, without the pressure, shame, or unrealistic expectations.

So I want to ask you:

What’s YOUR word for 2026?
What do you want this next year to feel like?
What do you want more of?
What needs to shift?
And most importantly… what are you finally done pretending about?

Don’t BS yourself.
Don’t choose what looks good on Instagram.
Don’t pick a word based on what everyone else is doing.

Choose something real.
Something raw.
Something honest.
Something that meets you exactly where you are — and helps you grow into where you want to be.

Let’s make 2026 the year of sustainable change — not pressure, not perfection, just truth.
